Change Password

The Change Password option in AlertWise allows you to update your account password to maintain security and prevent unauthorized access.
We recommend updating your password regularly, especially if you suspect any suspicious activity.

Accessing the Change Password Page

1. Log in to your AlertWise account.
2. Navigate to the My Account section.
3. Click on Change Password Toggle Button.

Password Change Fields

You will see the following fields:

• Current Password – Enter your existing account password to verify your identity.
• New Password – Enter your new password. Choose one that is strong and unique.
• Confirm Password – Re-enter the new password to confirm it matches.

Choosing a Strong Password

For better security, your new password should:

• Be at least 6 characters long (preferably 12+).
• Include uppercase and lowercase letters.
• Contain numbers and symbols.
• Avoid easily guessable words (like your name or birthdate).

Steps to Change Your Password

1. Enter Current Password – This ensures that only the account owner can change the password.
2. Type New Password – Use a strong combination as per the guidelines above.
3. Confirm New Password – Must match the new password exactly.
4. Click Save Password.

After Changing Your Password

• You will be logged out of all devices except the one you’re currently using.
• You’ll need to log in again on other devices with the new password.
• Any ongoing sessions with your old password will be invalidated.

Security Tips

• Do not share your password with anyone.
• Use a password manager to store complex passwords.
• Update your password if you log in from a public or shared device.
• Immediately change your password if you receive alerts about suspicious activity.
